1. Information We Collect Nintendo may collect the following types of information from you when you use the Nintendo Account Service. If you refuse to provide any of the following information to Nintendo, you may not be able to use the Nintendo Account Services. 1.1 Your Information to Register for a Nintendo Account When you create a Nintendo Account, Nintendo may collect certain information you provide. This information includes any or all of the following: the nickname registered in your Nintendo Account, email address, date of birth, gender, country/region, time zone and language. Nintendo may also collect your telephone number if you register it in your Nintendo Account. 1.2 Information We Collect When You Use the Nintendo Account Service 1.2.1 Information about Your Device and Connection Environment Nintendo may collect information specific to your device and across your different devices, such as the product model, serial number, operating system, internet service provider, IP address, and device settings. 1.2.2 Information about Your Use of the Nintendo Account Service Nintendo may collect information about your use of the Nintendo Account Service, such as your nickname, profile image, relationship with others (including your friend list), use history, app playing history, saved data, crash reports, viewing history for emails we send you, viewing history for linked sites that you visit, content that you uploaded, posted or otherwise made available in the Nintendo Account Service (including User Generated Content such as nickname, text, images, photos, audio, and camera footage) 1.2.3 Information about Your Purchase When you use online shopping services using your Nintendo Account, Nintendo collects the information you provide. This includes your name, address, product delivery address, telephone number, credit card number and other payment information, and information related to products and services you purchase. 1.2.4 Information about Inquiries and Opinions When Nintendo receives inquiries, opinions or other communications from you (including responses to questionnaires sent to you by Nintendo), Nintendo may collect information such as your name, email address, address, telephone number, the content of the inquiry or opinion. 1.2.5 Repair Information When Nintendo accepts and responds to your repair request, Nintendo may collect information such as your name, email address, address, telephone number, information contained in the repaired item and repair information. 1.2.6 Information about Your Account on Other Nintendo Services When you link your Nintendo Account Service with other services provided by Nintendo other than the Nintendo Account Service (hereinafter "Other Nintendo Services"), Nintendo may collect information related to your use of those Other Nintendo Services, such as your login credentials, profile, relationship with others, and use history. 1.2.7 Information about Your Account on Third-Party Services When you link your Nintendo Account Service with a third-party service, Nintendo may collect information related to your account on such third-party service, such as your login ID, profile, and relationship with others. 1.2.8 Cookies Nintendo may use cookies (including similar technologies) when you access the Nintendo Account Service. Cookies are small data files that are downloaded to your device. They are used to help the Nintendo Account Service run safely and smoothly, and for Nintendo to obtain information about your user preferences. 2. Use of Information Nintendo may use your information for the following purposes during the period of the existence of such purposes. Unless otherwise permitted by law, Nintendo will obtain your consent in advance before using your information for any purpose not related to those described in this Policy. 2.1 Provision of Nintendo Account Services Nintendo may use your information to provide, maintain and improve the Nintendo Account Service, to protect you and Nintendo, to prevent and investigate illegal activities and to prevent and investigate violations of the Nintendo Account User Agreement. This may include (i) providing online shopping services using your Nintendo Account,(ii) providing points under a point service based on your relationship with others and (iii) synchronizing or offering to synchronize your relationship with others between Other Nintendo Services or third-party services and Nintendo Account Service. 2.2 Market Research for Service and Product Improvement Nintendo may use your information for Nintendo and third parties in the IT industry and the video game industry to improve our services and products (including improvements to the Nintendo Account Service), and to develop and provide new services and products. 2.3 Advertisement and Marketing Nintendo may use your information to provide you information about services and products of Nintendo and third-party companies. To the greatest extent permitted by law, this may include introductions of features specific to you, customized content recommendations and offers, and advertisements and promotions suited to your needs (including through a web page or email). Your information may also be used to customize content offers and recommendations to others within Nintendo Account Service. If you do not want your information to be used in this matter you may opt-out from the setting of Nintendo Account. Nintendo may also use all information provided by you within Nintendo Account in accordance with Article 1 of this Policy including without limitation, your username, email address, date of birth and gender in direct marketing by sending you emails or posting on the screens of your Nintendo Account or Nintendo's game consoles. Such emails or postings may include promotions, advertisements or campaigns regarding Nintendo's products and services such as game consoles and peripheral equipment, software of video games (including digitally distributed games), video game applications, or other electronical or video-game related products and services provided by Nintendo and such events held by Nintendo. However, Nintendo may not do so unless it receives your consent or indication of no objection when you register for a Nintendo Account. You may also opt-in or opt-out of direct marketing at any time from the Nintendo Account settings. 2.4 Provision of Other Nintendo Services If you link the Nintendo Account Service to any Other Nintendo Services, Nintendo may use your information collected through the Nintendo Account Service to provide and maintain the Other Nintendo Services and to protect you and Nintendo and to prevent and investigate illegal activities and violations of user agreement for the Other Nintendo Services. This includes our sending of emails relating to the Other Nintendo Services to the email address registered on your Nintendo Account. 2.5 Inquiry Handling Nintendo may use your information to resolve any problems that may occur in your use of Nintendo Account Service when you report or inquire about those problems. Nintendo may use your email address and other contact information you provide to respond to inquiries and to inform you of changes to our agreements, changes or improvements to the Nintendo Account Service, and other services offered by Nintendo. 2.6 Creation and Provision of De-Identified Data Nintendo may provide your information to its third-party partners to improve the usability of our products and services and third-party products and services and as a reference for developing new products and services. In this case, the information will be provided in a de-identified format and we will prohibit any activities that would re-identify you as an individual from this information. 2.7 Creation and Provision of Statistics Information Nintendo may use your information for statistical purposes in an anonymized format in which you cannot be identified as an individual. Nintendo or the third parties appointed by Nintendo may use this information to improve our services, operations, and marketing activities, to improve the usability of our products and services as well as third-party products and services, and as a reference for developing new products and services.
